Our aims and objectives include:
- To work for the educational advancement of pupils of the Methodist Girls' High School Freetown, Sierra Leone, West Africa.
- To foster unity and to promote and maintain friendship among all other Methodist Girls' High School Old Girls Associations world-wide
- To raise funds by means of religious, social and cultural activities in order to contribute to the requirements of the Alma Mater
- To provide Scholarships open to pupils at the school
- The Association shall be non-political.
On April 10th 2017, the association hosted its inaugural Thanksgiving Service with 8 enrolled Members. Rev. Gloria Cline-Smythe, an alumna from the Washington Metropolitan chapter, was gracious to accept our invitation to serve as our Officiating Clergy at the Service.
Our association is in its infancy stage. We are committed to raising funds by means of religious, social and cultural activities. We have had our yearly Thanksgiving Services which have been well attended followed by Picnics in the summer with great patronage.
Currently, there are 18 registered members in Canada. We are also committed to working in partnership with other branches to assist in the furtherance of education of our students in Freetown and to enhance the upkeep and progress of the School. We pray that the Spirit of goodwill, hard work, support, love and cooperation will continue to guide us. We are therefore appealing to past pupils here in Canada who are not yet members to join us in our efforts.
