The Methodist Girls’ High School celebrated its 140th Anniversary on January 1, 2020. Thanks to members of the Wesleyan Mission Society who foresaw the importance of a girls’ secondary school to complement the boys secondary school, the Wesleyan Boys’ High School, twenty years after it was established in 1860.

“One cannot compress into so few words what the Good Lord did for the Methodist Girls’ High School during the period I had the privilege of being captain of the ship.” These are words from Mrs. Fashu Collier in January 2000 during her Reflection of her achievements as Principal of the school from 1959 to 1985.

President’s Message

The Methodist Girls High School Old Girls Association Ontario, Canada is moving forward with a new year full of promise and grace. Our first event this year is a Virtual Health Fair to be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024.

The central purpose of this event is to provide health information and resources that would promote wellness and preventive care as we raise awareness about various health-related topics that would enhance healthy living. As the saying goes: Health is Wealth. Be Happy Be Healthy! This is not a fundraising event, but you can donate if you can help our Alma Mater. Our focus will be on preventive health care. Be Healthy Be Happy! An interactive and rewarding time awaits all participants.

The next event after our Health Fair will be our Annual Thanksgiving Service which will be held in April. We thank you in advance for your usual support this year, as we strive to rebuild and enhance our Alma Mater, God being our helper.

Last October, our Branch held an impressive Fashion Show to raise funds for our School's Library Project. The event had rave reviews! The designs were stunning, elegant, and eye-catching. In addition, the models on the runaways did a tremendous job showing off their beautiful attires. We should consider holding another Fashion Show soon as our patrons are asking for a repeat performance.

Thank you all and may God bless you!
